Jérôme Jabès , The story of a family's passion for gems. The story begins at the beginning of the last century, in England. My granduncle Meyer had a passion for gems. He launched into diamonds‚ buying on the London Stock Exchange and set up a diamond cutting operation. Very quickly, his hard work supplying gems lead him to the former British Guyana, in South America. He developed strong ties to mine owners who gave him their best gems My father David took part in the adventure by negotiating with the government for diamantiferous operations. In the Seventies, my cousin Raphaël and my aunt Louna, who shared in my father's passion, expanded the company and set up a new office at the Antwerp Diamond Stock Exchange. In 1988, I graduated in gemology from the Gemological Institute of America, after having served my apprenticeship for five years, first at the Diamond Stock Exchange in Antwerp, then as a buyer and manufacturing director in the high jewel manufacture in Paris. Afterwards, I opened the Parisian office. Fortified by my experiences and enjoying an extensive network including the greatest professionals of the world, I continue the tradition from Paris. Besides offering a large selection of diamonds and colored stones in Paris and Antwerp, I am a gem hunter. I search for the Colombian emerald, the Kashmir sapphire, the Burmese ruby, the South African diamond and other international markets. I work to make my clients' dreams come true. I travel internationally from Paris to London, Hong Kong, New York and Los Angeles. The creation of new designs, traditional as well as contemporary, takes place in the Parisian office. We create, transform or restore any piece of jewelry or stone. Jérôme Jabès |
